Job Summary

NISSI Energy Company is seeking qualified Saudi Electrical Engineers to join our Testing & Commissioning team for projects involving SEC Substations, Oil & Gas facilities, Renewable Energy (Solar) Substations, and Industrial Power Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance support of high-voltage electrical equipment while ensuring compliance with SEC, Saudi Aramco, SABIC, IEC, IEEE, and project specifications.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of IEC 61850 communication protocols.

Experience with SCADA and Substation Automation Systems.

Familiarity with Omicron testing equipment such as CMC 356, CPC 100, CT Analyzer, TESTRANO 600, and DIRANA.

Knowledge of solar PV substations, grid interconnection systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and renewable energy projects.

Experience in SEC, Saudi Aramco, SABIC, or major EPC projects is an advantage.

Valid Saudi driving license is preferred.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Perform testing and commissioning of AIS and GIS substations from 13.8kV up to 380kV.
  • Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, functional testing, and energization activities for electrical systems.
  • Conduct primary and secondary injection testing of protection relays.
  • Test and commission:
  • Power Transformers
  • Current Transformers (CT)
  • Voltage Transformers (VT/CVT)
  • Circuit Breakers
  • Disconnectors and Earthing Switches
  • Power and Control Cables
  • Capacitor Banks and Reactors
  • Battery Chargers and DC Systems
  • Protection and Control Panels
  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot protection relays from OEMs such as Hitachi Energy (ABB), Siemens, GE, Schneider Electric, SEL, NR Electric, Toshiba, and other major manufacturers.
  • Perform testing of numerical protection schemes, including:
  • Distance Protection
  • Differential Protection
  • Overcurrent & Earth Fault Protection
  • Busbar Protection
  • Breaker Failure Protection
  • Transformer Protection
  • Generator Protection
  • Motor Protection
  • Carry out commissioning of Substation Automation Systems (SAS), SCADA interfaces, IEC 61850 communication, and network testing.
  • Perform cable continuity, insulation resistance, earth resistance, contact resistance, timing, SF6 gas checks, transformer testing, and other electrical diagnostic tests.
  • Prepare commissioning procedures, inspection reports, test reports, red-line markups, punch lists, and final commissioning documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, EPC contractors, OEM representatives, and construction teams during commissioning activities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with SEC, Saudi Aramco, project specifications, HSE regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting and fault analysis during plant start-up and operation.
  • Participate in shutdowns, maintenance activities, and emergency breakdown support when required.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Saudi National.
  • 0–5 years of experience in electrical testing and commissioning (Fresh graduates with strong academic background are encouraged to apply).
  • Good understanding of power system protection and electrical equipment.
  • Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, SEC, Saudi Aramco, and international standards.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and control wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and technical reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to travel and work at project sites throughout Saudi Arabia.
